Introducing Atlas
There are roughly forty apps tracking different parts of my life right now. Apple Health for body composition. Monarch for money. GHIN for golf. PADI for scuba. BTWB for CrossFit. Three different reading apps. And so on.
Each one of these is excellent in its own niche. None of them know about each other, and none of them can answer the question I actually want answered: ‘over the last year, am I trending in the direction I want to be trending in?'
Atlas is the answer. It pulls from the apps you already use, models your life as five mutually-exclusive areas with sub-areas underneath, and gives you a single dashboard that's the closest thing I've seen to a real-time picture of a life.
The hard part isn't ingestion. The hard part is the model — what counts as Health vs Lifestyle, where Growth ends and Relationships begin, how to weight metrics into a score that actually means something. The next few posts will go into how we landed on the current shape.
